Department of Communication Technologies, Electronic Warfare and Radiolocation

Teaching

Study Programme

The department guarantees the full-time and combined forms of study in both Bachelor’s and Master’s study programmes. There are Bachelor’s study in the branch of study “Radar Systems” and the follow up Master’s study in the branch of study “Radar Systems”. Graduates are awarded a Bachelor’s (Bc.) or an Electrical Engineer’s (Eng.) degree. The department offers several more study programmes in all forms of lifelong education for MoD employees as well as for civilian population. The department offers doctoral study too. Doctoral students are prepared in the branch of study “Electronic and Weapon Systems” in the doctoral study. The department is qualified to train professionals in special-purpose or technical courses and it also offers doctoral study programme for foreign students.

Teaching

The Department of Radar Technology offers compact courses of electrical engineering study leading to Bachelor (Bc.) and Masters (Eng) degrees for qualified individuals in areas of radar systems and Electronic Warfare systems.

Both study programmes involve several subjects that are generally divided to three parts which are:

  • the theoretical bases ( subjects as Mathematics, Physics, Information Technology, etc.),
  • the study programme bases (subjects as Electronic Circuits, Electronic Measurement,…),
  • the profiling branch of study area (subjects as Radar Signals, Technology of Radars, …).

The graduate’s profile

The graduate in the branch of study “Radar Systems” is professional with the electrical engineering education at Bc. or Eng. level that has knowledge of both theory and exploitation of radar and Electronic Warfare systems. He/She knows the principles of operation and maintenance of radar and EW systems. He/ She is familiar with new trends and technologies in radar systems area too.

The graduates are prepared for the Czech Armed Forces or for electrical industry. They can occupy both technical and management positions.
